Please join the Mile High Chapter Education Committee at our monthly luncheon.  Karen Hester, JD and Executive Director from the Center for Legal Inclusiveness will present on How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore?  - The Business Case for Diversity. Attorneys and legal employers have expectations they want each side to meet upon hiring. But if those needs are not met, then someone will walk away – literally or figuratively. By viewing those needs as types of sustainable capital (economic, social, cultural and identity), each party will learn of ways to recognize and meet those needs for the ultimate goal of retention and advancement of attorneys, especially those attorneys who are underrepresented in the profession.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Define diversity and inclusion; provide data on gender, racial/ethnic demographics of legal profession
  • Distinguish between the different types of sustainable capital and their relevance in the recruitment, retention and advancement of attorneys.
  • Use this information to refine initiatives and policies in order to best utilize capital to meet goals.
  • Implement activities which may impact structural, cultural and behavioral change in organizations and individuals.

HRCI and SHRM credits for this educational luncheon are pending.

CLM credit is approved.

Ms. Hester will join us at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Denver, 934 16th Street Mall, Denver, CO 80202.  The Board has agreed to continue with valet parking for those members outside of downtown Denver.  Please indicate in your registration if you will be using that service.

In an effort to thank our members for their continued loyalty to the Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators, the Board is charging $15 per lunch on a pay-as-you-go basis for the 2016-2017 Board Year! This pricing structure is for the educational lunches scheduled for 10/20/16; 11/17/16; 1/19/17; 2/16/17; and 3/16/17.  This pricing structure does not pertain to the Holiday Lunch in December.  The price for guests will remain at $35 per luncheon.

Our monthly educational sessions would not be possible without the generous support of our Business Partners.
