Please join the Mile High Chapter Education Committee at our monthly luncheon on Thursday, January 20, 2022.  David L. Zwisler, Shareholder, Ogletree Deakins will present Colorado Employment Law. A 2021 Recap and a Peak Into 2022. 2021 was an eventful year for employment laws in Colorado.  From mandatory paid sick leave to mandatory posting obligations for new positions and promotional opportunities, we will review some of the biggest changes in Colorado employment law in 2021 and identify what we know to expect in 2022. 

This will be a 75-minute presentation.  Registration check-in starts at 11:00 a.m., announcements will begin at 11:20 a.m. and the presentation will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. 

Session Objectives:

  • A better understanding of the recent changes in Colorado employment legislation.
  • A better understanding of the resources provided by the State of Colorado so they can access guidance directly from the State.
  • Will be able to identify changes occurring in 2022 and key indicators to watch in the legislative session.

 

 

David Zwisler is a shareholder in the Denver office of Ogletree Deakins with a 25 year history of representing employers in all aspects of traditional labor, safety and health, and employment compliance. David obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law.

The luncheon will be held at the Wells Fargo Building, Assembly Conference Room, Lower Level 2, 1700 Lincoln Street, Denver, CO.  At the present time, there is not a capacity limit at the Wells Fargo Assembly Conference Room.  If anything changes, we will let you know.  However, as a reminder, all attendees must follow the below Covid-19 protocols:

  • Present proof of COVID-19 vaccination with either a physical vaccine card, a photo of that card, a verified vaccine passport, or a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours of the event; and
  • Verify at check-in a health questionnaire
  • Wear a mask when not seated-Per Denver County Mandate


There is also a virtual/Zoom option available. 
 For those attending in-person, boxed lunches will be prepared by Y.Lo Epicure Catering.  Parking is available for those members outside of downtown Denver in the parking garage located at 17th and Sherman.  Please indicate in your registration if you will be parking in the garage. 


This session has been submitted to HR Certification Institute for review.

The session has been approved for:  CLM Application Credit for Functional Specialists:  1.0 hour in the subject area of Human Resources Management toward the additional hours required of some Functional Specialists to fulfill the CLM application requirements.
CLM Recertification Credit:  1.0 hour in the subject area of Human Resources Management.
   

This program is valid for 1.0 PDCs toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP recertification.
