Please join the Mile High Chapter Education Committee at our monthly luncheon.  Lino Lipinsky, Partner at McKenna Long & Aldridge, LLP, will present on Marijuana and the Law. This session has been approved for 1 hour credit in HR for CLM recertification OR 1 hour credit in substance abuse for CLM recertification.

Session Description: This program will answer your questions regarding the impact of Colorado’s medical and retail marijuana amendments on employers.  All businesses in this state, and particularly law firms, need to know the circumstances under which they may take adverse employment actions against employees who test positive for THC.  We will review how employers can minimize the risk of marijuana-related employment litigation and will discuss the most recent Colorado judicial decisions on employee use of marijuana.

Session Objectives:

  • Learn the history and impact of Colorado’s marijuana initiatives.
  • Examine the state’s marijuana regulations.
  • Review the Colorado case law on marijuana and employment law.
  • Discuss best practices for addressing marijuana-related issues in the workplace.

Mr. Lipinsky will join us at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Denver, 934 16th Street Mall, Denver, CO 80202.  The Chapter is providing valet parking for our Chapter members outside of downtown Denver to be able to join us.  Please indicate in your registration if you will be using that service.

In an effort to thank our members for their continued loyalty to the Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators, the Board has lowered the price of the monthly educational luncheons from $30 to ONLY $10 per lunch for the 2014-2015 Board Year! This reduction in price is for the educational lunches scheduled for 11/20/14, 1/22/15, 2/12/15 and 3/19/15.  The reduced price does not pertain to the Holiday Lunch in December.  The price for guests will remain at $35 per luncheon.

Our monthly educational sessions would not be possible without the generous support of our Business Partners.
